One of my all time favs. Fizzy lemon, lavender and her s. Its incredibly clean smelling and masculine due to its reserved nature. Read about this perfume in other languages: Deutsch, Espaol, Franais, etina, Italiano, , Polski, Portugus, , , Nederlands, Srpski, Romn, , , , . But I loved it anyway so my then girlfriend (now wife) gifted me the lighter 'Mineral Spray' version which was a good deal more manageable. It did not last long, and there was not as much seperation in the dry down. Beautiful work! It doesn't smell like a cologne. Nicely blended. It just smells nice! Ive never smelled the vintage version, but i can tell you now this is just heaven. I remember I went down to Seville from London to have my first night with a much younger spanish girlfriend in the Hotel Inglaterra and it fit the bill for that role, totally. I would love to try the female version for myself now, but it's really hard to find! Then as I attempted to run off, he tells me it's probably our dads. I don't usually reach for Azzaro when I want something soft or discreet, so while I like Tuscany, it feels a little out of place to me. I wore it the other day to see if it was similar to Patou Pour Homme, as some claim. As others have stated, the opening is a little harsh - straight up citric alcohol, but then it mellows to a spicy leather scent that is kept from being heavy by orange blossom and anise. Basala by Susheido (if you can find it) is far more complex and refined. He was wearing this and it suited him so beautifully, it added to the whole "attractive" vibe he was giving out. I was helping a friend with house clearing and came upon a bottle of this. I tried today, and remembered the father's scent during that time. This is frequently compared to Azzaro Pour Homme. I also get floral notes such as Carnation and Jasmine lurking. It feels very barbershop, very mediterranean. My father ordered what looks to be a vintage bottle of this, but then my brother accidentally ended up with the package and then, seeing that it was a cologne, attributed it to me (being that I'm the only person in this house obsessed with fragrances). It is a fragrance that best works when you are all dressed up in your best suit. Tuscany Per Uomo doesn't feel or smell overly soapy, which is a great thing. In the late 80s this was one of the best colognes. Beautiful scent. This is an all time great that still hasnt lost its charm. I would spray myself all the time, so it held good memories for me. I remember about 15 years ago my Dad would put this on in the morning and come home from work 12+ Hours later and this fragrance would still fill the house with its distinct smell. The difference between this and Azzaro is in balance and texture. I think its time for Aramis to reconsider to go back to their original. It is such a nice, classy, spicy fragrance. This is a classic! TPU is truly spicy and fresh, with a real refined lightness, that elevates it above other scents of this genre. It was just o.k. A dead ringer of Rive Gauche in the dry down, which is excellent news given the limited availability of RG. The new formulation seems to be a water down version of the original, The brown box is the original. wonderful scent of the 80's ! @ Syarul, I have the same problem, received it today after buying from Internet.. I don't like this fragrance since reformulation. havana also reformulated! Spices give it depth such as Licorice-like Anise and Cumin. The sweet- woody - spiciness makes this a classic. I got a bottle of this for Father's day and think it is a great cologne. Where has this been all my life!?!?!?! Not excessive sillage, but enough. Tuscany's pedigree may well begin with the Nine Flags take on Italy --- Dry Citrus --- in the late 60's, and the family also includes Faberge's Cellini in the 70's, Azzaro pour Homme, Adidas original, Laura Biagiotti's Roma and Venezia, Mediterraneum, and Calvin Klein's discontinued Calvin, all of which include similar components. Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo Eau de Toile (. This is a classicI see it compared here to another classic, Azzaro pour Homme, which I also own and like. As I age I will use this more often along with my Havana that I so love. It smells fantastic and it lasts really long. straight up grandpa scentover 65 only! Late in the drydown I noted a few moments reminiscent of the heart of Soda by Comme des Garons, lending it a slightly avant garde feel. It smells like a real man should, giving you an aura of warmth, earthiness and tenderness. This is (was) the one for me; you know some scents just blend well with your own body chemistry. In my opinion it is much more mass appealing than APH and thus less likely to offend. It worked for a while, but now, alas it is definitely empty. All I can say is what happened? I had to really think for a few minutes until it hit me; it reminded me of the way my grandfather smelled when I was a boy and we would go fishing on lake Michigan. For $15, I say its a win. The Vintage version is FAR SUPERIOR to the current Gentleman's Collection version!!! Initially there were citruses and then lavender came into play. It reminds me of Pasha. Only one but it's very significant and perceptible. It's sensible, friendly, unique, and it still exerts a masculinity that commands respect. A definite must have for any collection. not sure how the newer version compares, I also found a small bottle of Havana that I have had that is almost empty..both are fantastic fragrances..two thumbs up from way back. The entire Aramis line-up is a welcome change from the fresh/blue scents that are being produced by most houses today. I'll have to make my rounds through the house of Aramis and find more gems to review. It's the original, red box version (without the red square label on the bottle). Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo gets mentioned on several Youtuber reviews of their favorite classic fragrances from the 80's. What I remember the most about its previous formula was that it had an incredibly deep richness to the scent. since i can't find it on fragrantica, could you tell me if that's right or if etruscan was another fragrance (not just reformulated). I think I get primarily the bergamot and spices, and it is a very well-rounded spicy fragrance to my nose. Today's "Tuscany" has nothing to do with the original. I'll surprise my dad with it in the summer when I visit.Don Draper would approve of the vintage juice. It has a really high spicy smell like sage and pepper and a bit of urine. To me it represents what a man should smell like. Old friend what have they done to you??? I even discerned slight traces of Cuir Ottoman's piquant leather sting after several hours. The leather, for example, is not really a textural presence in the head and heart, but more an analine sharpness that accentuates the lime of the opening and then the rustle of herbs in the drydown (the patchouli at the end gives it a bit of a pebbled grain. i read somewhere that it went under the name etruscan "in the good old days". This is a very satisfying good old school barbershop/fougere fragrance, albeit a bit linear and one-dimensional in character. I'm currently deciding which one to part with. Aramis Tuscany and Devin are definately cornerstone for todays woody perfumes same as Eau sauvage or Guerlein Vetiver, so if you are Classy man, this one is for you. But today I tried it on skin at a counter. The opening smells like lemon oil mixed with Azzaro - not my favorite part of the fragrance, but worth it to get to that RG dry down. How can people actually reformulate? After an hour of wearing both, the reformulation is pretty non existent, while the Vintage is still as present as it was when I first applied it. Simply put; Tuscany Per Uomo is spicy, fresh aromatic relaxation in a bottle. I have several Aramis Men's frag which I have acquired over the last 1 1/2 yrs. I've bought batches years apart and there is no difference in quality! Just a juggernaut; it never gives up. I am not knocked out by the performance. I love this as it's really classy. There's some element in Tuscany that reminds me of my youth. I had purchased the reformulation of this juice about a year ago, and it was in heavy rotation with some of my other fave fragrances from the time period that it was out and was popular. Sillage as with other Aramis fragrances I have tried is moderate yet leaning strong but in an effervescent and airy way, while longevity is actually quite good. Making coq au vin today, completing the preps and decide to hit the shower before the cooking work begins. Gets closer to the skin but silage isn 't so good like Azzaro. This juice is dry, smoky and spice mixed with leather. longevity and projection very good. This is the easy-reach holy grail leather chypre. Some women seem to really like this. and thanks is still alive! It lasts for a very very long time on my skin (or it least, it did while I still owned it). There's a dry, snappy leather that occasionally looks the other direction to reveal a sweeter, Bel-Ami style of leather. I do think it's pretty nice though, and suits colder weather more that hot. i also like the old tv commercial from the 90's with the italian actors, very funny! It's not a "synthetic blob" but perhaps it can be regarded as a kind of natural blob at this point. Unfortunately this performance has been lost over the years, I recently bought a bottle from batch A41 and longevity is 4 hours at best. I love these types of scents and the general aura they create. the opening has a great bergamot, lemon bite then settles to a bunch of other good smellin stuff. Wore this in my "cologne infancy" in college, shortly after it launched.spicy and masculine. Very Virile (Too Virile)! Save it for cooler days and nights. In Germany this perfume was known by another name. Vintage Azzaro Pour Homme would be the way to go if you want something more balanced, IMO. It's so was so cheap now I blind bought and have worn for three weeks and tried to like it, but just can't. I don't like this cologne. Quite longevity more than 6 hrs on me. Think of it as a much spicier Azzaro Pour Homme. First of all this just oozes class. Very nice blend that reminds me of Hermes TDH. Definitely a weakness going on here. This dates back to the days of navy double-breasted blazers with gold buttons, cream turtleneck sweaters or heaven forbid; the two worn together! I put the tissue in my pocket to sniff it later. This simply turned into a anisey chemical synthetic mess that had incredible lasting power sadly. It worked well for dates, semi-formal occasions, and even with jeans and a leather jacket. Projection is moderate, while longevity is better. One of the best friends a man can have in the fragrance world. Years ago, I had a sleazy manager at my job that wore this. The Azzaro honestly reminds me of Pinaud Clubman aftershave. The best one! I bought this for my husband last week and find it absolutely irresistible! I definitely note the leather and sandalwood, and theyre nicely mixed. I still have about 1/3 left of one of the older bottles , I have had this for a very long time, it still smells fantastic, have not worn it in a long time. One last tip: This is not civilized. Rich and invigorating but not loud. Tuscany is a classic Italian-style fougere very similar to Azzaro pour homme, but not of the same depth nor as heavy. If you own the former I say pass on this one but if you can find this at a great price grab it and enjoy this classic. I will wear this again very soon. My father has this as his signature scent from its launch and throughout the 90's. On the drydown it smells similar to the opening with a pleasant limey vibe with the scent of anise, basil, oakmoss, and leather. Take a spray shower in Tuscany per uomo, pour yourself some sambuca and get out in the heat of summer. A bit similar to Azzaro PH, but absolutely not interchangable. Tuscany per uomo is good scent until now. Ahhhhh Tuscany, what else is there to say? Not a place to find he sprayed it on a tissue paper. More leather notes present in it, and a lot spicier. It really makes me envision a small town in northern Italy, as featured in countless Olive Garden commercials, or, alternatively, a crisp golden november evening in the semi-desert scrubland where I grew up, east of LA. No idea which year it was from other than it was more than 5 years old. Now this type of fragrance has been done before many times over, but to me, this is so unique and in such a class of its' own. If you buy fragrances based mainly on whether or not women will think you smell good, you won't go wrong with Tuscany. After it settles, the leather and spices come into play. I find it to be very similar to Azzaro PH (which is my all-time favorite fragrance). As a lover and owner of many of the best classes of Fougeres, this one stands on its own. A powerhouse masculine fragrance that I absolutely adored. If this was a world with a true feeling for what is right the vintage Tuscany should still be produced in all its glory, and even be top shelf seller instead of these synthetic crap based sellers that are reciding there today. It demands fun. This to me smells like a classier version of Halston Z-14, awesome! The search is on for yet another great scent. ", then Tuscany is for you. On me, Tuscany starts off with the citrus notes, mostly orange. I recently picked this one up a 3.4oz bottle for roughly 20 dollars. I'm writing my second review on it because there is so much to discover over time with the newer formulation. :-). This fragrance is splendid. Rediscovered in a small collection of bottles from the mid 80s. For curiosity sake (and because I'm addicted to trying fragrances) I jumped on a nearly unused big bottle for about $60. It's very close to Calvin by CK. Positives: the price and it's longevity, if you like it. This is a really masculine citrus aromatic chypre fragrance that evokes the idea of Italy. So much nostalgia with this scent. My signature scent in early 90s. Smells intimate. TUSCANY! This was my "signature scent" back in the late '80s (although such phrase was unknown to me at the time). It means 2017 batch. The most beautiful leather-turning-to soft natural moss male chypre in existence. Price to quality ratio: outstanding. oh my dear. Felt like a safe blind buy because of the comparisons to Azzaro PH (which I love). This gives it a warmth that Azzaro lacks. This is for sure an old-fashioned-masculine style of fragrance, but its just a step off from being over-typical. I'll have to see how it unfolds in the summer but I suspect it might go off the rails on a hot, humid day. It's basically greenery with citrus and leather together. Not a summer freshy, at all. I don't support you have a penny for the guy who is looking to buy a backup ! Althought it took a while to like the scent, I would not buy it. I don't disagree. The opening has a huge blast of limey citrus and lavender that can be a bit off-putting at first but has grown on me. (I'm visiting my parents right now.) Havana just ages the wearer so much, and conjures very specific images. Please read the Terms of Service and Privacy policy. And the 'Forte' was a bridge too far. My dad wore this one, and gave me a little mini when I was a kid. I could smell it before the bottle reached my hands and it was GREAT. Save this beauty for colder months zesty fresh bergamot. Not the reformulated version which I will have to try. Zoom forward to 1998 my wife bought me a bottle of the Forte version (black bottle). The bergamot/citrus opening is not quite as sharp as Azzaro PH (I can go into public immediately after applying Tuscany). I was sold for life. I can't really add to the scent review others have, other than to give you a Fall/Winter 2016 chilly weather perspective. It's smell is confident, classy, sophisticated and both vintage and modern at the same time.
